Punjab and KP elections: The National Assembly rejected the bill related to the provision of 21 billion rupees

 The National Assembly has rejected the bill related to the provision of 21 billion rupees for the election in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The standing committees of the National Assembly and the Senate have already rejected the bill.


The finance ministry has already apologized for providing funds for the elections. State Finance Minister Ayesha Ghos Pasha said that no additional funds are available apart from the allocated budget.


Earlier, the Senate Standing Committee on Finance rejected the bill to fund the Election Commission by a majority vote.


A meeting of the Finance Standing Committee was held under the chairmanship of Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh in which the Money Bill was unanimously rejected.


In the meeting, the finance ministry apologized for providing funds for elections in Punjab.


In the meeting, Minister of State for Finance Ayesha Ghos Pasha said that Pakistan is under the strict program of IMF, we are facing a shortage of funds and a huge deficit.


Another important virtual meeting between Pakistan and the IMF will take place today.


Ayesha Ghos Pasha said that we do not have additional funds available apart from the allocated budget, if additional funds are provided, it will exceed the IMF program.


He said that he wants to be limited to the deficit agreed upon with the IMF.
