Madinah Munawarah: During Ramadan, 60 routes have been allocated for worshipers and pilgrims to come and go to the Masjid Nabawi ﷺ. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the government of Saudi Arabia has made extraordinary arrangements for the convenience of worshipers and pilgrims, to facilitate access to the Prophet's Mosque, to provide a quiet environment for worshipers, and for the safety and security of pilgrims. It is the result of these systematic organizational efforts that within a few hours millions of worshipers gather easily in the Prophet's Mosque.
It has been reported that under these arrangements, 60 main and secondary corridors have been allocated for the gathering of worshipers, 38 main corridors, 14 sub-corridors and 8 emergency routes are among the 60 corridors established for pilgrims in the Prophet's Mosque. The purpose is to facilitate the entry of pilgrims and worshipers into Masjid Nabawi ﷺ, to take care of their safety, to prevent crowding and stampede, in addition to dividing pilgrims into the places designated for prayer in the mosque due to these corridors, Masjid Nabawi. It has been made possible to supervise the worshipers in the courtyards and the places reserved for men and women.
Likewise, the Agency of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Masjid Nabawi ﷺ has announced the provision of a technical service to inform the worshipers about the condition of the crowd in the Masjid Nabawi ﷺ and its courtyards so that during the hours of prayer and iftar. Visitors can be aware of the crowded parts of the mosque in advance.
The service is available in Arabic, English, and Urdu at (eserv.wmn.gov.sa/e-services/prayers_map) for the status of worshipers and pilgrims in the courtyards of the Prophet's Mosque. It helps to know the state of full capacity before praying in the mosque.
The service has been found to help ensure a place within the Prophet's Mosque at 12 places designated for prayer in the eastern, western and northern extensions, along with the designated places for women in the east and west, as well. In other parts of the mosque, timely awareness of the crowding situation is available. The General Presidency Agency for the Affairs of the Prophet's Mosque has said that an operational plan is being implemented to manage the smooth entry and exit of worshipers to the Masjid Nabawi ﷺ and its courtyards and through this service the mosque The status of the halls and courtyards being closed, crowded, fully available or unavailable is displayed in 4 colors, this also helps in crowd management efforts before and after the end of prayers.
